Name: Ben Krantz
Where are you from?
What industry are you in and what do you do?
I’m a creative director and designer in the entertainment industry during the day, and I run a streetwear brand in the after-hours – on nights and weekends.
How do you define happiness?
For me, I’m most happy when I’m at the center of organized chaos. I prefer to be in constant motion both physically and mentally. It’s a delicate balance, but it keeps me feeling fresh and alive.
Tell us about how you started NIGHTS WKNDS?
NIGHTS WKNDS is all about celebrating the after-hours – the time and space when we’re off the clock and free to do whatever we want. There’s a sense of ambition in there, but we’re uniting friends with shared passions. That’s why at the heart of our “brand” you’ll find yourself immersed in skateboarding, art, music, film, photography, etc.
Where do you see NIGHTS WKNDS going in the next 5-10 years?
Great question. Each collection we’ve released is bigger and better than the last. We’ll continue doing this and remain selective with our offering, but we’re always excited to introduce new pieces and categories. There are also a few brands and individuals that we’d love to work with, but as long as we continue pushing boundaries and surprising people we’ll do alright.
How did you come up with the vision for the NIGHTS WKNDS collaboration with Arlo?
The Arlo experience and vibe made this a natural fit for us. It’s a space that allows us to feel comfortable, and we love a spot where we can hide out, get shit done, and have a good time.
What do the Arlo x NW designs mean to you?
We approached the initial design concepts from a collaborative POV and then Arlo gave us the creative freedom to run with it. The final graphics bring our personalities together while paying homage to NYC.
Where do you hope to grow within Arlo?
This partnership has been really cool. We look forward to the next evolution of this relationship and we would love to do some sort of hotel room takeover type of residency or a live/virtual experience uniting guests across locations… We’ll get as wild as we’re allowed.
What are you most passionate about?
This is hard to keep short, so I’ll go with friendships, self-expression, and tequila.
