Summer is winding down, and the back-to-the-city energy is buzzing. As sad as it can be to say sayonara to the warm weather, nothing beats that snug and cozy fall-in-the-city vibe. Plus, it’s the season when it’s allll happening, from arts and cultural shows to local festivals and culinary events. Here are some of our favorite fall highlights in Arlo cities over the coming month and beyond.
Fall In New York City
As all our most stylish friends already know, New York Fashion Week is one of the highlights of the fall, this year taking place between Thursday, September 11, and Tuesday, September 16. The week will feature the best of the spring-summer 2026 season, with more than 60 runway shows and designer presentations—plus, of course, the many after-parties and associated events all over the city. The Official NYFW schedule includes a who’s who of designers including Altuzarra, Christian Siriano, Cynthia Rowley, Jason Wu, LaQuan Smith, Prabal Gurung, Tory Burch, Ulla Johnson, Alexander Wang, and Toteme.
Not invited to any of the official shows? You can still channel that creative vibe at Arlo’s NYC hotels, with a lineup of fun events on tap. The action includes a Pickle Workout + Shopping Pop-Up at Arlo SoHo on 9/8, and, then on 9/10, Arlo SoHo’s Living Room Gallery will host a special NYFW edition with photography by German Ayala Vazquez, beats by Nicole GS, plus drink specials and on-site fashion sketches. Over at Arlo NoMad, the NYC Content Creator Girlies: host a panel and reception for content creators on the rooftop on 9/11, and on 9/12, The Sociable Society takes things to the rooftop for a workout at ART SoHo.Finally, you can get your shoppies on at Arlo Midtown, with aHommage Vintage pop-up on 9/13.
Elsewhere in NYC, The Armory Show brings the world’s top art galleries to the Javits Center from September 5–7. It’s a fantastic chance to get up close to artworks by big names and up-and-coming talent—and mingle with the always fabulous art crowd.
September also sees the return of the Metropolitan Opera—this season featuring Mason Bates’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay as well as new productions of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, two Bellini classics, and other revivals. Tickets are on sale now for shows from 9/21. Likewise, the fall season of the New York City Ballet kicks off on 9/16.
Fall In Wynwood
You already know that Wynwood is Miami’s hub for all things art and culture, but September marks the arrival of the Wynwood Art Walk, a new monthly celebration of the district’s creative pursuits. Held on the second Saturday of each month, Wynwood Art Walk invites visitors into a rotating lineup of exhibitions, installations and food and beverage offerings. A host of local galleries and organizations are taking part, including Wynwood Walls, the Museum of Graffiti, Art of Hip Hop, and Goldman Global Arts.
September is also a big month for culinary action in the Magic City, as the second month of Miami Spice continues, including at Arlo Wynwood’s signature restaurant, Wyn Wyn. This is the perfect time to try something new, with each meal featuring a choice of appetizer, main, and dessert. Wyn Wyn is doing Miami Spice for Lunch, Monday to Friday for $35 per person; Dinner daily for $45 per person; and Brunch on Saturday and Sunday for $35 per person.
Wyn Wyn also honors Hispanic Heritage Month between 9/15 and 10/15, with special dishes that showcase Chef Amado’s Cuban background and the Latin flavors that make his menus shine. Don’t miss his Red Snapper Ceviche, Papas Canarias with Spicy Gochujang, and Steak Frites (Yucca & Chimichurri). “This is my personal twist on a non-Hispanic classic,” says Chef Amado. “I’ve swapped traditional potatoes for yucca and added chimichurri. Yucca has always been a staple in my home, and this dish reminds me of the many family meals we’ve shared together.”
For even more reasons to add Wyn Wyn to your must-do fall list, the restaurant hosts live jazz every Friday night, featuring Miami’s best Samba, Bossa Nova, and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira).
Fall In Chicago
Kick off the season with some fresh art to stir your senses. There’s a new exhibition up at the Arlo Chicago Living Room Gallery, which you can supplement with a visit to the nearby Art Institute of Chicago in Millennium Park.
This month is also time for the annual Taste of Chicago, a culinary event that brings some of the city’s most iconic food to Grant Park and other locations across the city. Held from 9/5–9/7, the festive event features dozes on Chicago’s most beloved food vendors, along with live music performances, family-friendly activities, and more.
Later in the month, on 9/19, you can get started on Oktoberfest celebrations a little early at the Riverwalk Oktoberfest Pub Crawl. The team at Revolution Brewing lead the way with visits to eight establishments for brews and bites throughout the afternoon and into the night.
Then, on 9/20 & 9/21, Chicago Live! showcases more than 100 artists and organizations performing across five stages (and on boats) at Navy Pier. It’s a star-studded two days of music, dance, theater, and good vibes.
It’s also almost time for Chicago’s largest fall festival, Jack’s Pumpkin Pop-Up, at Goose Island. Join the waitlist at their website now to get all the scoop on the corn maze, carnival games, ax throwing, and food and drink offerings.
Fall In Washington DC
Fall is a great time to get local and explore DC’s neighborhoods—especially on Sunday, 9/14, when Adams Morgan Day celebrates community history and brings neighbors together for a day of music and good times.
Around the same time, from 9/13–9/20, you can keep that spirit of discovery going with Events DC WalkingTown, a series of guided walking and biking tours in neighborhoods across the District of Columbia. Over eight days, you’ll have the chance to get to know residents and other visitors as you learn what makes each DC neighborhood so special and unique.
And while the air may be a little crisper now, it’s still rooftop season at ART DC, so come on up and take advantage of these last days of summer from upon high. You’ll enjoy stunning views of the city, as well as finely crafted cocktails and delicious Pan Asian-influenced bites.
