Miami Halloween Events

It’s time to primp your pup and dress ’em up, because on Saturday, October 25, Arlo Wynwood is hosting a Howl-o-ween Dog Costume Contest in the hotel’s lush Higher Ground Courtyard space on the third floor. What could be cuter than seeing your dog in costume? Mingling with a whole pack of decked-out pups and their two-legged chaperones, of course. The contest will include prizes for the best dog costumes (from local Wynwood businesses), and both humans and pets can enjoy treats throughout the afternoon. The event will run from 4–7pm, and is free to attend, although entering your dog in the contest will cost $5 (which includes automatic entry into a raffle). Get those costumes ready… may the best dressed-pup win!

Halloween Parties in NYC

In excellent news, Halloween falls on a Friday this year, paving the way for a great night and weekend, whatever Halloween vibes you may be into. In New York City, the fun begins the day before that with a Great Gatsby-themed evening on Thursday, October 30, complete with a live band in the lobby at Arlo Midtown. Mingle by the fireplace, enjoy the musical stylings of the Showmanceband, and, if you dare, sing along to some of the night’s Halloween tunes. Swing on by for this classy kick-off to Halloween weekend on the 30th, from 6–8pm.

Then, on the holiday itself, Friday, October 31, it’s time for Arlo NoMad’s Haunted Library, a series of spooky spaces devoted to all things dark academia. Drop by between 8pm–12am to explore the Haunted Library’s tarot readings, guided spirit tastings, NoMad Diner bites, and plenty of photo opps. Kick things off with a complimentary welcome cocktail from Diageo Premium Spirits, and then groove your way onto the terrace, where a DJ will be spinning until the clock strikes midnight. Tickets are $50 per person, and the dress code is “Bookworm meets Boogeyman”—i.e. time to channel your favorite author or literary character!

Further downtown, Arlo SoHo is getting into the Halloween spirit with two back-to-back nights of Mercer Day Party’s Halloween Takeover, on Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1. Curated by the teams behind Azure Day Party and Amber Sunset Party, Mercer Day Party will kick off at 9pm each night, with house beats and spooky vibes going strong until 2am. Spread over three spaces from their lobby level speakeasy, Foxtail, to the iconic ART SoHo rooftop at Arlo SoHo, these are going to be epic nights, with special guest DJs and some of the city’s top local talent. Dress to impress and beware the spirits that come out after dark. Tickets from $22.99 per person; table reservations available.

Over in Brooklyn, similar back-to-back party shenanigans are taking place. If you were a fan of our rooftop Sunday parties with Azure Day Party, that same crew is hosting Arlo Williamsburg’s As Above So Below Halloween Party on both Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1. Utilizing all spaces of the hotel, each night’s party offers three unique Halloween concepts, with three stages and three DJ lineups. Sport your scariest costume and come through with all your energy to experience it all. The horror night vibes and live entertainment runs from 9pm–2am both nights. Admission is for ages 21+. Tickets start at $58.99 per person, and include 1-hour premium open bar.

What To Do For Halloween in DC

Great news if you’re spending Halloween in the nation’s capital—Arlo Washington DC is the site of two weekend events celebrating the holiday, both hosted by popular local promoters and arbiters of a good time. On Friday, October 31, the hotel’s rooftop, ART DC, hosts a Halloween LOFT P event, from the team behind some of the city’s most exclusive and sophisticated nights out (you may know them from their Slow Jamz & Sushi nights). Then, on Saturday, November 1, celebrate the culture of Africa as you continue partying your way into Halloween weekend. To mark the holiday, Arlo Washington DC is hosting a Halloween edition of STAMPED—DC’s hottest afro beats party.

Halloween in Chicago

Don’t have a Halloween date lined up yet? Never fear. Come on down to About Last Knife for Arlo Chicago’s Singles Only Late 30s/40s Happy Hour, a mixer hosted by Shaka Club, exclusively for singles aged 35–47. The main event of the night is Shaka’s signature “Speed Intros,” a fun twist on speed dating, in small groups for a more chill experience. Guests can purchase food and Halloween-themed drinks with extended happy hour pricing throughout the event from 7:30pm–9:30pm, and a live DJ will keep the room grooving. Costumes are encouraged, with prizes for the best looks. This mixer is designed for English-speaking straight daters and tickets start at $18 per person or are free for Shaka members. (You can sign up for membership here.)

Whichever Halloween party you choose—or parties, should you go all out and hit up more than one—you can also make a night of it by booking a room at your chosen Arlo Hotel. What could be better than leaving the party and simply taking the elevator upstairs to bed? Well, maybe a sleep-in and breakfast in bed the next day? Find the best deal for your Halloween stay.

Happy Halloween!
