How Arlo doubles down on inclusion, not just for Pride but year-round
As we celebrate Pride Month across the country this June, we’re reminded of the values we march for—and how this ethos of inclusivity is woven into everything we do, every month of the year.
As part of our in-house manifesto, Arlo Cares, we’re committed to fostering a workplace of belonging, and to welcoming guests who, like us, are from all walks of life. Even as we build tight-knit teams at our properties and in our offices, we also celebrate everyone’s individuality, encouraging team members to “embrace your DNA,” in whatever way that means to them.
At a time when many corporations are cutting their DEI programs due to pressure from the current administration, Arlo remains steadfast in its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. In fact, it’s the foundation of our company and the basis of its success. For the second consecutive year, Arlo Hotels has been recognized as an Inclusive Workplace for 2025 by the Best Companies Group and Color Magazine. Honors like these are gratifying as well as motivating for our teams—they remind us all to continue doing the work.
As our president, Jimmy Suh, recently shared in an interview with Skift, hospitality is not the place to scale back DEI:
“It would be rather foolish for any hospitality company to deviate away from the DEI initiatives when our very existence is to serve people from all walks of life…and we (can) only do so if we practice what we preach.”
At the local level, this can be seen in ongoing activations at Arlo hotels, such as this month’s Pride celebrations, and beyond. Six months into 2025, as the administration’s actions affect international travel and the funding of non-profits, including those whose work is celebrated during Pride, Arlo is proud to turn away from fear, and continue our work in the name of love and acceptance.
Front-of-house, we see this in the warm welcomes our guests receive every time they walk through our doors. We also see it in events that celebrate difference, or honor the work being done in our communities. For example, during Pride Month, each Arlo hotel is creating a themed Pride cocktail, with the proceeds of drink sales being donated to The Trevor Project, a non-profit organization whose mission is to work towards preventing suicide among LGBTQ+ youth.
Back-of-house, we see our commitment to embracing each individual’s DNA in the freedom our team members have to bring their whole selves to work. You can also read more about how Arlo lives its company values here, in our page about Arlo Cares.
From all of us here at Arlo Hotels, Happy Pride!
