Where are you from?: I was born in Chigwell, England and now reside in Scarsdale, NY

What industry are you in and what do you do?
I grew up in the beauty industry working for world class brands such as Estee Lauder, Chanel, Lancome, Clarins, and Prada Beauty. 

How do you define happiness?
For me, I’m most happy when I’m at the center of organized chaos. I prefer to be in constant motion both physically and mentally. It’s a delicate balance, but it keeps me feeling fresh and alive.

Tell us about how you started Scent Marketing?
In 2010, I inherited Scent Marketing Inc. when my beloved husband of 15 years, Harald H. Vogt, suddenly passed away. Harald was a well-known and respected advocate, educator and pioneer in the field of Scent Marketing. As I started to explore the business to determine the way forward I feel in love with the art of scent branding, diffusion and all of the wonderful product possibilities that flow from it!

Where do you see Scent Marketing going in the next 5-10 years?
Scent Marketing and branding are becoming an important part of the branding mix. As companies seek to differentiate themselves and enhance their guest and consumer experiences the power of scent becomes a key factor in brand memorability and distinction…also, as many find ourselves on the path to inner and outer wellness we have begin to feel the power of scent as a positive influence in out business and lives.

How did you come up with the vision for the Scent Marketing collaboration with Arlo?
The vision for the curation of the Arlo Deep Wood scent stemmed directly from the brand values and experience…beyond a hotel, Arlo is a destination where one can feel free to explore and at the same time retreat to the safety of a comforting environment….the Arlo Deep Wood scent is deep and rich and allows true mid to wander while as the same time providing a feeling of comfort.

What does the signature Arlo scent mean to you and where do you hope to grow within Arlo? 
The Arlo Deep Wood scent is particularly near and dear to my heart as Arlo was one of my first clients as  I took over the company upon my late husband’s passing…The Arlo team have always been amazing partners we share such a mutual passion for the power of scent and how it enhances the entire guest experience. We are so excited by the warm reception of the Arlo deep wood scent. We look forward to extending the product assortment from the ambient diffuser version found in the lobby, scent diffusers and room spray sold at hotel locations and on out website, to reed diffusers and candles in the near future! Due to the success of the Arlo Deep Wood scent we also look forward to playing a role in taking it beyond the hotel walls in to the world at large.)

What are you most passionate about?
I am very passionate about our client relationships and value the long term partnerships we have developed over the years….it’s so exciting to work with a start-up brand, help to curate their scent and diffuser in their first location and then be a part of the growth as the brand succeeds and one location becomes many!

Are there any charities you are passionate about and/or working with?
am proud to be a board member of the not for profit organization – The Fashion Group International where I act as secretary of the board. Fashion Group International helps to  develop professionals in the fashion and fashion related fields.

Favorite place you have been in the world?
Morocco – with my late husband we traveled to the Atlas mountain and had real Moroccan mint tea with a berber family.

Where will you get on a plane to next?
Probably in late November/December we will travel to Miami to visit the wonderful team at Nautilus by Arlo and attend Art Basel.
