If you find the holidays a bit too earnest, you’ll love Emo Christmas at Arlo Williamsburg’s Mirror Bar. This month-long pop-punk-themed pop-up trades the jingle bells for your favorite emo sad songs. Think throwback to the music of the MySpace days, with bonus boozy holiday cocktails. General admission includes a Taking Back Christmas Ornament cocktail, and more concoctions are available for purchase. On Fridays through December, Emo Christmas includes a Late Night Party with special guest DJs (for an additional fee). Don’t miss this chance to channel your inner emo kid.
If chic winter style with party punch is more your speed, pop into Foxtail’s Holiday Hideaway at Arlo SoHo this season. The cozy cocktail den, decked out for the holidays, is the perfect place for a festive night on the town, open daily from 5pm to late. Take advantage of holiday specials and surprises and switch things up with the bar’s Reverse Happy Hour, from 10pm to close, Tuesday to Friday.
Visiting NYC or planning a holiday staycay? If you choose Arlo Midtown as your digs, you can indulge in the hotel’s 12 Days of Holidays Giveaway, which runs from Dec. 3 through 14. Swing by the lobby each day of your stay to receive a new gift. The goodies include Baked By Melissa cupcakes, Thierry Atlan macaroons, hot apple cider from Altair and more.
Whichever Arlo you’re visiting this season, don’t forget the folks back home (or crushes near and far!). All Arlo hotels feature a Postcard Station for the holidays, where you can customize and address a festive postcard to pop into the mailbox. The Arlo elves will take care of the rest and send your message on its way.

Find a new soul mate for the festive season—the furry kind who’s always up for a snuggle. You never know who you’ll fall in love with at Arlo SoHo’s Holiday Pet Adoption event in partnership with Waldo’s Rescue on Dec. 7. On Dec. 13, you get another chance at puppy love, with Arlo NoMad’s Holiday Meet & Greet Adoption afternoon with Animal Haven from 12pm–2pm.
Selfies with Santa: If you’re staying at Arlo Midtown this season, you can get photos with Santa, just in time to create your holiday cards. Pose by the Christmas tree and fireplace in the lobby, and get your snaps with Santa between 5–7pm on Dec. 13.
Cozy up. There’s nothing like a fireside hang with a playlist of carols and a mug of hot cocoa in hand. On Dec. 14, Arlo Washington DC invites you into its warm fireplace lounge for a free Holiday Café Social, open to all between 11am–2pm. DJ Bingo will spin the holiday hits, Christmas classics will roll on the TV, and the holiday spirits will be high. Whether you’re a local or a guest, this is a great time to take a beat amid the holiday chaos and enjoy a few cozy moments with friends old and new.
