Whether you’re coming home tipsy from a night on the town and desperately need pizza delivery in Miami Beach, or looking for a gourmet coal fired brick oven pizza scattered with artisanal premium toppings, very few things hit the spot like a cheesy slice of ‘za. While it’s not New York or Chicago, Miami has its own robust pizza culture and fans who’ll tell you exactly where to go to tame that craving. Here are a few of our favorites.

Andiamo! Brick Oven Pizza

New York style? Check. Brick oven? Check. Andiamo! deserves its exclamation point, having been a favorite here since it was opened in a former Firestone tire store – and it’s actually a historical landmark in the MiMo district, located right on Biscayne Boulevard. It’s still got the funky feel of industrial chic, but now the focus is on a true taste of Italian-American traditional pizza. They’ve got meat-lovers options, all sorts of fancy truffle, prosciutto, and goat cheese type toppings to choose from, and even a Sunday Pie topped with ricotta cheese, pepperoncini, and basil. Best of all, most pies will run you less than $20.

Pizza Rustica

Since 1996, Pizza Rustica has been serving up pizza by the slice in the Roman style – which is to say, in rectangular pans. With three locations, you’re likely to find one nearby wherever you go in Miami. The list of specialty pizzas and customizable toppings is nearly overwhelming – just about anything you can imagine, they’ll craft for you – even multigrain crust and gluten free pizza. And they don’t only serve pizza. They’ve got lovely salads, wings with a side of fries, tons of Panini options, and more. Plus, not only are they open late, you can order online from their website. You can even order by the slice!

Pizza Bar

Right on Collins Avenue in the Art Deco District, steps from the ocean, Pizza Bar’s motto is, “Size Does Matter,” and that should give you an idea of what you’re getting. A lot! While you might order two or three slices at any other pizza place, think twice here; one mega slice may well quell your cravings. Don’t forget a side of garlic knots with your order. And if you agree with us that pizza and beer make a great combo, you’re in luck – they serve beer on tap. They’ve even got an app you can download to order delivery or schedule a takeout pickup.

Harry’s Pizzeria

This uber-popular pizza place serves genuine pizza from three upscale locations – Coconut Grove, the Design District, and Aventura Mall on Key Biscayne Boulevard. The focus is on locally grown, seasonal ingredients, which means the menu changes to reflect what’s freshest at the moment. When you walk in the door, you’re greeted by the fragrant scent of really, really good pizza. From Margherita to Mushroom, Rock Shrimp to Short Rib, there’s something innovative and mouthwatering for every taste. They also offer gourmet sandwiches, pastas, and main dishes like seared salmon or chicken paillard to round out the offerings.

Ironside Kitchen Pizza and Coffee Co.

Two of the best things in life are pizza and coffee. At Ironside, located in the historic Upper Eastside District, you don’t have to choose. Get a hot steamy cuppa at the cafe, and a hot steamy slice in the main restaurant. The pizza here is Neapolitan style, baked in a wood-fired oven, and carefully chosen to reflect their authentic Italian aesthetic, from hand-cured meats to artisanal mozzarella. Their loving care extends to offering vegan and gluten free pizzas to assure all customers leave with their appetites fully satisfied. Sandwiches, pasta dishes, mains and delectable desserts round out the menu at this gourmet Italian Miami favorite. Be sure to conclude your meal with an espresso for that finishing touch.

Blocks Pizza Deli

Another Roman-style pizzeria serving rectangular pies that Mama back in Italy would be proud of is Blocks. Speaking of pride, they pride themselves on using what they call “mother yeast” to make their unique dough. It’s a yeast culture 300 years in the making, and each crust is leavened 3 days for maximum flavor. Diners love the option to create their own “block” of pizza, meaning you can mix and match the square slices so everyone gets their favorite toppings and no one has to settle.

Grafa Pizza and Pasta

Whether by the slice or by the pie, the array of pizzas you can try at Grafa is absolutely dizzying – you name it, they can top it. Same with the salads, pastas, and sandwiches. You can pick up, get delivery (even Uber Eats and Door Dash), and best of all, they’re open really late. Like, ‘til 6am on busy days. Located in the heart of South Beach on Washington Ave, they’ll satisfy your cravings while you’re out on the town, anytime the mood strikes.
