Visitors to Arlo SoHo have noticed a new face on property. Sporting a permanent smile and encouraging guests to “paint the town,” it’s Frank Ape, our new mural from artist Brandon Sines. And while he’s new to Arlo, Frank Ape is no stranger to NYC. Sines has drawn dozens of renditions the friendly creature all over the city. “To me, what Frank is about is positivity and equality,” says Sines. “The idea is for people to be able to connect with him and find a friend in Frank.” Over the years, Frank has become a veritable New York celebrity, appearing on buildings, post boxes, bags, mugs, Instagram (of course), and even on Project Runway.
Here, Sines shows us some of Frank’s most memorable locations, including the new mural at Arlo SoHo, plus his Spotify playlist on Arlo!
