Happy New Year! As we head full-speed into 2026, we’re thinking about more than resolutions and fresh starts. That’s because 2026 is Arlo’s 10-year anniversary! Yep, our first hotel opening was in 2016 and it’s been a decade of growth and good times ever since.
We’re thrilled about this milestone and will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in fun ways our guests and neighbors can enjoy throughout the year. Stay tuned!
Until then, let’s take a look at all the things that make us Arlo as we head into our 10th year.
Our Evolution
It all began in 2016, when the very first Arlo Hotel opened in SoHo in September. Arlo NoMad followed soon after, debuting in the rapidly changing NoMad/Flatiron District in November the same year. These two hotels set the tone for the brand, offering guests streamlined, stylish rooms and destination food and beverage outlets, designed to meet the demands of the modern traveler.
In May 2021, Arlo Midtown joined the portfolio, giving business and leisure travelers a trio of chic options across the most popular areas of NYC. The following year, in November 2022, Arlo Wynwood became the first hotel to open in Miami’s hot-and-happening Arts District. In 2023, Arlo converted two existing hotels, one in Chicago and one in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, transforming them into stylish sister properties of our existing community-driven hotels. Then, in November 2024, we adapted and expanded a historic building in the nation’s capital into what became our seventh property, the brand-new Arlo Washington DC.

Arlo’s Living Room Gallery Series was created by curator Jasmine Arakel with the mission to bring fine and contemporary art into publicly accessible spaces. This series features rotating exhibits which have shown work from artists such as Damien Hirst and Andy Warhol along with up-and-coming local artists. The best part? Our opening receptions are always free to the public.
Sometimes, the only way to get through the chaos of life is to laugh. It’s true, because we see how laughter lightens up the room whenever one of our hotels hosts an ArLOL comedy show. These regular stand-up shows are produced for Arlo by our partner comics, and have built steady followings in Wynwood and NYC, with Washington DC soon to laugh as well. ArLOL shows are a great opportunity to catch rising comics in an intimate setting, and to meet likeminded peeps in your local city or the one you’re visiting.
We believe wellness should be accessible to all, not a luxury. From our earliest days, wellness events have been a crucial part of our on-site programming at our hotels. Through Arlo’s wellness lineup, guests can meet popular fitness partners and wellness experts, do sun salutations on a rooftop at morning or sunset yoga classes, sweat it out at the latest pop-up workout, or take a journey into a fully-fledged wellness retreat. Staying with us? Guests are always guaranteed a free spot in workout classes.
At Arlo, we make socializing easy, with a varied lineup of mixers, happy hours, and other special social happenings where you can meet interesting peeps in a friendly, low-stakes setting. From speed-dating and networking, to journaling workshops and pet adoption events, there’s truly something for whatever you’re into on our calendar. Whether you’re staying at one of our hotels or live around the corner, Arlo happenings are a great way to connect IRL.
Sound makes the world go round, and at Arlo, we live for the beat. From quintessentially Miami live DJ brunches in Wynwood to secret Sofar Sounds shows in Washington DC, there’s always a fresh, new soundtrack for our guests to enjoy. Into live jazz? At Wyn Wyn, you can enjoy dinner with a side of live bossa nova. Prefer poolside beats? Head to the rooftop in Williamsburg or Miami to enjoy chill playlists as you take a dip.
At Arlo in NYC, Washington DC, and Miami, you don’t have to go far to find the hottest nightlife. Arlo After Dark is our lineup of regular and one-off parties, the kind that last long into the night, that you can’t stop talking about the next day. Immersive shows, the best DJs from around the world, impeccable vibes, Arlo After Dark has it all. Come out to go all out when the sun goes down.
Every Stay Gives Back
Giving back to our communities has always been a huge part of the Arlo DNA, but in 2025, one of our biggest initiatives grew that mission in a very tangible way. One that allows our guests to give back, too. Partnering with Kind Traveler, we recently launched the Every Stay Gives Back (ESGB) program across our portfolio. By integrating a $0.50 nightly donation directly into our booking system, Arlo makes it super easy for guests to help us support hyper-local nonprofits in NYC, Miami, Chicago, and Washington DC. This makes giving seamless and lets our guests see the impact of their donation in measurable ways by learning more about their hotel’s chosen nonprofit partner. A win for all involved.
