The 2026 World Championship Final will come alive at the MetLife Stadium, which is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just outside New York City. The World Tournament Final is happening on July 19th, 2026, with lots of matches occurring in June and July. While the final takes place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, staying in Midtown Manhattan is a great choice for visitors who want to experience the city and still make it to the matches without stress.

Arlo Midtown is right in the center of Manhattan, close to transit, restaurants, bars, and landmarks. It’s the perfect spot to rest, reset, and get ready for all the World Championship action happening this summer.

Timing Your Stay for The World Championship 2026

The 2026 World Championship runs from June 11th through July 19th, featuring 48 teams, the largest tournament in World Championship history. The New York/New Jersey area will host eight matches, including the final. Some key group-stage games in the region include:

  • June 13th – Brazil vs. Morocco
  • June 16th – France vs. Senegal
  • June 22nd – Norway vs. Senegal
  • June 25th – Ecuador vs. Germany
  • June 27th – Panama vs. England

The Round of 32 begins June 30th, the Round of 16 starts July 5th, and the final is scheduled for July 19th at 3:00 PM.

Match-goers plan their stays depending on when they have tickets. Visitors coming for early group-stage games usually stay three to five nights, while those attending knockout rounds generally plan for four to six nights. If you’re coming for the final, five to seven nights gives time for pre-game prep and a few extra days in the city. The busiest period is July 14th to 20th, so booking your hotel early is highly recommended.

Secure Your Midtown Spot Early

Hotels in Manhattan fill up quickly, especially in late June and during the week of the final. Booking early can make your trip less stressful. Tickets are released in phases. The Random Selection Draw has already happened, but any remaining tickets will, of course, be available as a first-come, first-served basis closer to the tournament. Once you have confirmed your match tickets, it’s a good idea to reserve your room at Arlo Midtown as soon as possible.

Getting to MetLife Stadium from Midtown

Where is MetLife Stadium? It’s in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is about 15 miles from Arlo Midtown. Public transit is your best option and usually takes 75 to 90 minutes, depending on connections and crowd levels.

A typical route is:

  1. Walk (about 15 minutes) or take a taxi (about 6 minutes) from Arlo Midtown to Penn Station.
  2. Once you’re at Penn Station, take NJ Transit to Secaucus Junction.
  3. At Secaucus Junction, transfer to the Meadowlands Rail Line shuttle train.
  4. At Meadowlands Station, the shuttle takes you directly to the Meadowlands Rail Station, next to MetLife Stadium.
  5. Allow extra time for lines and security.

You can drive from the city as well, but we don’t recommend it. The trip takes about an hour without traffic, but match-day congestion can extend it to one and a half to two hours. For evening games and the final, most fans leave in the morning to ensure plenty of time. Fans attending MetLife Stadium World Championship 2026 matches should plan extra travel time on game days.

Why Midtown Works Even With the Stadium in New Jersey

Even though MetLife Stadium is located in New Jersey, it’s easy to hop on a train or bus and skip the stress of traffic and parking. Back in Midtown, the city is there to experience and enjoy. Grab a quick bite at a nearby deli, check out a rooftop bar, or take a short walk to a landmark between games. The neighborhood moves fast, and you can jump in or step back whenever you want. That means you can enjoy the tournament and the city at the same time without sacrificing convenience or comfort.
